Senate Bill 2639

(As Sent to Governor)

AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF SPECIAL FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE OFFICE OF THE STATE TREASURER FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of Fund No. 3178, for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Office of the State Treasurer for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999 $ 533,361.00.

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of preventing a deficit which would otherwise occur resulting from the costs associated with the emergency purchase of a new warrant reconciliation system and other expenses related to the purchase of software and investment consultant services necessary to continue the day to day operations of the State Treasury without interruption.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
